Spanked at WA!
So, this happened...
Yesterday, I spent hours writing my longest website blog post EVER, @ 1800 words. I posted a comment here and received a few replies...
HOWEVER, I could only like their comments, I was unable to reply, which seemed weird.
When I tried to write something, a red alert indicated that my:
write access had be revoked by admin.
HUH, WHAT?
I could not write, nor reply.
I could not post, soon I'll tell you why.
I could not use private message to ASK Kyle or Carson WHY this happened.
My only way to get a message to WA was after I logged out, and sent them a contact us message on the home page.
I just received the reply...Here's what they told me:
The reason you were cut off is because you may have been reported for a promo/spam within the system
Wow....
As you can see, I have my writing turned back on 'For Now'...
Here's the link they gave me to remind me not to do whatever I did to get the royal WA Spank!.

I read this, and I have no idea why I was reported. I do not provide any content that would be considered spam or promo.
The only thing I can think of was when I asked for a comment on my website, and submitted the page link to site comments.
Because I only had 2 credits, I could only get one comment.
I wrote a short post addressing this fact, and asked if anyone wanted to comment, to go check the link.
I DID NOT EVEN POST THE PAGE LINK IN THAT COMMENT!
Am I frustrated, a little. I mean who knows why I was reported.
Yes, someone here reported my post...
What disappointed me the most is that I did not get a courtesy call / email to inform me that one of my posts (or whatever entry it was, etc), had been reported, and that resulted in my writing access be revoked. I had to go ask someone why this happened.
So, there ya have it.

Yep, it happened to me once too.
No warning. No communication.
Just a sudden SUSPENSION. (like Facebook)
I've also had people PM me telling me to watch my steps. And scolding me for doing something that "they" interpreted as being wrong.
I understand why it is set up this way. It is so it is sorta "self-policed" by the WA members. Like CraigsList I guess.
However, there are those "Karens" out there that tend to think they understand the intentions of everybody else, so they report any little incident, "thinking" they are helping.
It is a flaw/glitch in the WA system.
I think there should be more emphasis on people using authentic profile photos of their real genuine face.
These incidents are going to be a factor in my decision when it's time to renew.
What other people think of me is none of my business...but when 10+ people decide to claim my post is spam or otherwise against the rules, I'd prefer thet they be honest about it, and contact me directly via PM. I will gladly discuss the situation and try to find a solution.

Hi - this comes back to the argument that there should be paid admins on the platform. Rather than marking a post as spam, members would be required to file a report detailing there concerns.

Hi Rudy,
One of the great things about WA is that we are all looking out for one another and we try to keep the community free of solicitation in the form of links. That could have been why your post or comment was flagged, although I didn't see the post myself. This is not a perfect system but it requires multiple reports by numerous members to cause your account to lose access to publish.
You've got your writing privileges back on now after review by likely Kyle, which is great!
Hey Carson, thanks for coming by. I appreciate your comments, and cannot imagine why 'that' many people would complain about something that appeared to be so trivial.

Who knows...last night I tried to reply to you congrats on the 1800 word blog, and was unable to. Thought it was a glitch, as I use firefox browser, and sometimes I see things differently than when I use Brave browser.
Anyway, I'm back...grin.
Yay your back and if someone reported your blog that was out of line cause again no links in it but I guess live and learn your back wahoooo

Hi - I believe it actually requires 10 members to report a post as spam before any action is taken. The exception to this is when a post is reported directly to Kyle and he takes action.
Spam doesn't necessarily mean adding a link, it also includes religious and political posts. Personally speaking, if I spot anything clearly breaking the rules, I put a comment on the post advising that it should be removed.

I am not a political person, especially online. And I am the same, wehre I will comment on the post, or send a private message.

Diane, I am surprised it’s 10 people. I was told it was less than that. Kyle in a private email informed me instead of 10, it is now 5 people to hit report spam. I think the numbers were reduced due too many people violating the “Spam No No” rules and getting away with it, he did mention that he will waive if it’s a newbie error. We need to confirm if it’s 10 or 5. I feel that the rules links should be placed in the lesson plans. Not sure if those rules has been added to that. Is there a way to verify that?
Hi - I wasn't aware it had changed. The link to the rules is certainly not in the first lesson, where logically you would expect it to be.
I agree. 5 is a good number, is there a parameter or window of opportunit, say within a 12 hour period?
