Holiday Snow

The header image is mine. The view is of the Skagit River looking west.

I was visiting friends, over the Christmas holiday, when it began to snow in the early hours of the 26th. Oh, it sprinkled a few flakes on Christmas, about the size of Corn Flakes, before reducing in size to eventually nothing. However, the next morning, snow covered everything, and then some, totalling anywhere from 4 - 11 inches depending on the area.

I stayed an extra day longer than I had planned, and fortunately, that worked out. The drive home was long, 90 miles, but the highways were still full of snow, so travel was slower than usual.

My car was due for service, and my windshield fluid was spent. I exited the freeway to stop at a store, and this was the view I was rewarded with...Unfortunately, the washer fuild was sold out..I purchased a small water bottle, yet, this only provided a short respite before that was depleted. I don't know what I was thinking...grin..

Today it was sunny, hovering about 20 deg F, the past 2 days we baely made it to 20 deg F, what a difference a little bit of sun makes.

This is today, en route from a quick trip to the store.

Beauty in the pause for the train to make its way across town...

This was the second time I stopped to watch this same train travel through town. Funny story is that shortly after leaving the store and had headed down the road, a train came through, stopping our little caravan of cars.

Three engines pulled this baby, so i knew it would be a long train, however, due to the snow, the train was moving slower than usual. At the second crossing, the train had slowed down to a crawl, until the caboose finally made it across ro the other side of the road, and I could finish the last 1/4 mile to my driveway.

We are supposed to get a few more inches of snow. The Pacific Northwest (west of the Cascdes) on occasions gets some snow, but this tear seems to be a little colder. Our first real snow was in early November, where the snow level dropped to about 2k feet.

Anyway, I've been busy with finishing up my e-commerce, set it up with a blog after 10+ years of not using a blog, and have added a signup for email subscribers.

A word for the new folks, stop looking for instant gratification...grin.

For those of you who feel you are still struggling, keep pushing through, you will get there.

The learning curve runs the spectrum, and it doesn't matter how long it takes for you to finally get an understanding of what it is that you are struggling with, You can do this if you TRULY WANT TO!

I know....

I've completed two years here, the first year was not productive at all, unless you count how many websites I owned (and hav since let go...) The next year, I chose to get on track, and force my way through some obstacles to finally get where I am today.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!!

2022

Good pictures...thanks for including. Glad you finally got some snow. I guess we are to be hit with a big storm, starting tomorrow...a foot or more...and then next week it is to get seriously cold. Sigh! I guess the message is to stay inside and keep working on Wealthy Affiliate. There's certainly enough to do.

Ain't that the truth...grin. Supposed to be more snow here, too...
I might have to make one more stop at the store, the one I usually go to was closed to tou power outtage. On my way home, I saw a crew working on a downed telephone pole..

Happy chilly holiday Rudy.

Thank you! And to you and yours as well!

As I am writing this, it is 39 degrees here in southern Australia. We are burning for a couple of days and hard to imagine the below zero temperatures you are getting.
Happy New Year Rudy.

You mean 39 deg C? That is nice and toasty...grin
