Just a quick note to say that I received a popup notice when I logged into WA today to let me know that I have been a member for two years!
Am I where I want to be since beginning this journey?. ...No. But I am getting closer day by day.
Am I happy with my progress?
Yes and no.
Yes, because I am much further along from what I have learned for my participation here both from attending trainings and classes, plus from my sharing the knowledge I brought with me.
No, because I did not get started right away. Oh, I thought I did, but realistically, I did not.
Something Partha said recently, and I felt the same. From what I recall, it is about knowing the information, yet failing to take the same action I suggest others to take.
Kind of like the mechanic who is constantly fixing their car. Or the carpenter who has half finished projects. I am the same way, the suggestions I've made to help you out with your website, ideas I have offered, you're website looks sharp, runs quick and you're probably starting to earn some income...
Yet, I have goals now, and things are getting done. I find that I'm a better writer when I don't HAVE to write...guess it was writing all of those college term papers...grin.
So, I've taken my writing elsewhere, and see what happens with that.
I finally strung up the lights in the garage and will be making things on my lathe. All in due time, people, when you get to it, you will fuel the fire of your passions, and you will be off and running like the roadrunner and coyote...BEEP BEEP!!
Hang in there...I heard the other day something that made so much sense...
When you first learn something, you are filled with all of this knowledge. You are ready to take on the world, or at least your next project, then you freeze.
Your head fills with self doubt and you think you are a failure because you can't do anything.
And that is a totally normal feeling and an expected one.
When I heard that, it made so much sense to me...I was fresh out of web design school, did a couple websites for people and all of a sudden, I was blocked. I could not do anything. I knew what was needed, yet, I could not and had to defer to another designer.
What I DIDNT know was the remedy. Had I known that, I would still be designing and creating websites.
Oh, the solution? I wrote it down somewhere, I will have to get back to you on that one...grin.
Anyway, it's been a pleasure being here, I've learned a lot more than just web design and affikiate marketing.

Some call it "analysis paralysis". You start analyzing every step to the point of overthrinking it all. You are so concerned about knowing everything, preparing for everything, doing everything that it becomes overwhelming and instead you do nothing, or anything other than what you set out to do.
Luckily, if you persevere, it's only a phase. You can get through this. You know what you need to do. Think of it as a series of tiny steps, and do one each day. A tiny step isn't as overwhelming, so it doesn't trigger that anxiety. But at the end of the week you've made progress, and that helps deal with the fears of doing something wrong.
Can't wait to hear the solution!!!
Analysis paralysis.. .ha! Haven't heard that in a while, yet is so true.
I had to search for the answer and am waiting on the inquiry. I guess I did not write it down...as soon as I get it, I will provide the asnwer...

Here is the solution, I found it. Specifically, this was an answer to someone who questioned their own abilities after being educated in web design, yet felt stuck and unmoving. They felt like they could not create a website.

The more you work on your craft, whether it be web design, painting, writing articles or learning a new anything, start small and create something from start to finish.
It's the finishing part that gets many people when first trying a new thing.
Conquer your self-doubt, and you can do anything!

I began stainedglass back in the early 80's. My first pieces were pretty simple, but each grow with experience! All of them, I've been proud to say I made, and many were gifts to others!
Now, I design all my own, and the more detail the better. Each Masterpiece in it's owns time!;)

Awesome! I got into acrylic pour painting a free years ago, and love it! Had a period where I hadn't painted in almost 6 months, and then got right back into it!

I'm back to the basics, but I had to reconnect to the WAmily.

We have all we need right here, so I'm doing what I did then to reconnect.
Break it down to small manageable goals, but do so daily.
