I have been offline in this community for awhile since the summer because of my work. When did the update WA profile page take place. I just see blog post , What happen to th
It's been several weeks since the profile changes were put into place. Members' websites are still listed on the profile pages. Look in the lower right corner for the label "Follow ____ on". Their websites are listed under that label. (see below)

Change your password to a stronger one. If you don't know how to do it , then submit a support ticket . They will assist you .

do you have to copy and past to add a link in the url address bar? When you do is the url link black or blue type?

I just wanted to share an absolutely free link that I have found very helpful for years when it comes to basic knowledge of HTML. The link is: http://www.annabella.net/html/ This sole link has saved me very much frustration and taught me a lot in the past years when attempting to do numerous functions on my sites that I had no clue on how to even begin. I hope this even helps at the very least a few of you and it will have been worth posting. I know it has really helped me big time in the past. WA of course is a massive wealth of information, but it seems not any site whether free or pay has all the answers.

If you create a custom menu you can use a link for a menu item

Thanks for your assistance, I'm trying to get the insert/edit link in course 3 lesson 3 to work. In the url link box you add your link. Do you copy and past your link in the box and then click (add link).?

you can also make it from your profile page by going to your profile page. click on my blogs at the top and then click the big blue button that says create a new blog on the right hand side. hope that helps

This week Google gave the Google Slap Smackdown to Rap Genius by using illegal SEO tactics. Rap Genius came on line in 2009 and got to #1 Page Rank, and held it for a long time

Google has one goal and it's to deliver the best content to the user who is searching it. Any website that tries to modify the rankings by using "black hat" strategies (like unnatural backlinking in the case of Rap Genius), is in-fact making the search results worse. Google will ALWAYS punish black hat techniques, schemes, or "magic tricks" as they discover them.
Backlinking for example, was a craze for years and everyone was doing it. Of course here at WA, we were not advocates for this at all and did everything we could to help EVERYONE stay well clear of such strategies. We want folks to build lasting businesses that will be there tomorrow, next year, and for years to come, regardless of what Google does.
Most of the "Guru's" out there are chasing black hat techniques and this is why they continue to fail over and over again...along with anyone who follows them. They and all the people they fooled have to start their businesses from scratch each time.
Using black hat strategies and trying to fool Google is not how REAL Business works. So, the answer to the question is that you should ALWAYS steer towards WHITE HAT techniques. What is a White Hat technique? It's simple.. focus on the people who are going to read your website, offer them a quality experience, and help them learn something. That is exactly how you stay in front of any Google changes that wipe out companies like Rap Genius overnight.

I can't tell you how often recently I have needed this in Live Chat as a couple of members have been trying to convince others that blackhat techniques are worth pursuing (because the 'gurus' do). No amount of us saying otherwise has worked - so every time it now comes up - I have something I can refer them to (other than my own common sense!)
So true! One of the sites I write for used black hat techniques. They paid a lot of money to an SEO person to do it, then promptly got throttled by Google. Now they're paying me to write good quality content so they actually have something to offer visitors. They would have saved a lot of time, money, and trouble by taking a proper approach in the first place.
