help stl get a nfl team by signing https://www.change.org/p/roger-goodell-nfl-expansion-team-in-st-louis-missouri?recruiter=564990524&utm_source=petitions_show_components_action_panel_wrapper&utm_medium=copylink Since the 1960's, the city of St.Louis have been strong supporters of the National Football League. With both the Cardinals and Rams franchises, the city and surrounding areas have shown the same passion and enthusiasm equal to city's other professional sports teams even through some of the more lackluster seasons. The end of the 2015 NFL season also marked the end of another franchise in St.Louis with the Rams opting to return to Los Angeles. In a similar situation as what led the Bidwell's to move the Cardinals to Arizona after the 1987 season, Rams owner Stan Kronke could not come to terms with the city on a $780 million dollar renovation and had no interest in a proposed new billion dollar stadium, becoming the second franchise to leave within 30 years. In a document released to public for reasons of departing St.Louis, the Rams organization stated that their facilities did not meet the lease requirements to be in upper echelon of league stadiums and described the city as a "two-sports town", a "baseball city", and criticized the stadium proposal stating "Any NFL Club that signs on to this proposal in St. Louis will be well on the road to financial ruin, and the League will be harmed." Only 21 years later, the city offered another new stadium with the majority of the construction costs off the owners hands. Many documented accounts of meetings state that Rams ownership had no interest in meeting with civic and government leadership to keep the team in Missouri. Taxpayers are still paying for a stadium and facilities that no longer in use for professional football and the league is not showing the support to St.Louis as it did in 1995 when the Cleveland Browns relocated to Baltimore. Even if the former Edward Jones Dome did not meet the NFL criteria to be labeled a "top-teir facility", it is still newer than a handful of other teams in league and is viable to house a NFL franchise along with the offices/training complex in Earth City, Missouri. Let the NFL know that St. Louis deserves better treatment they what they received by giving the city a expansion team! With this petition, the league will know that it's time to once and for all come up with a permanent solution. Teams have never moved from the city due to a lack of enthusiasm or popularity, on due to stadium issues. With the possibility of the playoffs expanding and interests to grow the league internationally, the NFL needs to see in a business sense the "low hanging fruit" that St.Louis has to offer instead. A stadium that's only two decades old, facilities that are NFL ready, and an already established football fan base that just wants an ownership group that is committed to keeping a team in the city. For all the money that was paid to the NFL by St.Louis fans over the years and taxes paid for the stadium, it's time for the league to show that they want to continue doing business with a city that has given them nothing but support since the beginning.
