How To Stay Focused my story so far

Who else bumped into Wealthy Affiliate one day whilst searching 'how to make money on the net?' And everyone you read about seems too good to be true but you'll try it anyway because you are that desperate to quit your job and work in Thailand off a laptop. For years I've pondered and thought about making money online and have dreamt of the possibilities your life could have if you were working from a laptop. Nobody on your back, work wherever you wanted, no schedule. And low and behold I bumped into WA, not knowing whether it was just another scam and looking for hours just to see one review that would tell me it didn't work, I bought into it. Although I am not yet there I am still very positive about the prospects and believe I will one day be free lance. I want to just share with you how I keep positive and focused and maybe it will help one of you.

I have been with Wealthy Affiliate for about 3 months now and coming to the end of writing content for my first website (yes I know it's taken a while). The first couple of months were hard, days after I joined WA I had my jaw broken and the medication I was on stopped my concentration. Then the joys of Christmas begun and so did the partying!!! But I did something very different this year than I've ever done before. Around the world people believe that the way you start your year very much plays a roll in the way the rest of your year will pan out. So this New Years Eve while all my friends were out partying (and no doubt most of you) I was home playing catch up on my website!!! BEST NEW YEARS EVER!!! And I promised myself I wouldn't slip and go back to the party lifestyle I love. I'm not gonna lie, it's been dead easy!!!

Every week on a Friday afternoon without fail my phone blows up with calls and texts asking to go out and its as if I'm being tested, because this year my friends seem to be getting up to some pretty awesome stuff. But I've been focused and I want to share how I've been able to keep my head in the game.....

Number 1: wherever you're working from make sure it is clear and tidy. If you are going to be spending a lot of time in this place then you don't want it to be somewhere you're not comfortable. Also a clear space equals a clear mind, I'm sure this is proven fact but if not it definitely works for me.

Number 2: get some incense, there's nothing more relaxing than sitting down in a nice clear area surrounded by a beautiful aroma. Some people aren't a fan of incense so maybe try a scented candle.

Number 3: while you are working listen to some meditation music containing alpha waves and binaural beats, these are beats that send low tone frequency's to the brain helping you to relax, concentrate and study.

Number 4: this to me is the most important step to staying positive and focused and that is hypnosis. Every night when I go to sleep I put some hypnosis on youtube, you will find hypnosis for all sorts of things. Primarily I go for 'hypnosis for positivity and success' and I will listen to the 8 hour version waking up fresh as a daisy the next morning. You don't have to do as many hours, there are some as short as 10 minutes but I believe you will gain more from 8 hours while sleeping.

Number 5: this is simply to just try and stay positive about anything as much as you can. We all have issues in our life, obviously some worse than others but what ever problems you've got they are there. You can either deal with them with a smile on your face or down in the gutter, I can tell you what one I would chose and what one works best. Give good energy, receive good energy!!!

I hope this has been of some help to you and remember there are plenty of people here at WA that are willing to help. I asked the help of jasonheard one time and he really turned the way my site was heading around. Now I have never ending ideas for my site!!!

Always remember that You Cannot Work Hard and Achieve Nothing

Hey there and thanks for putting this blog post out. You sound very similar to me in a lot of ways. I totally agree with the concept of 'messy desk, messy mind'.

I've also used incense and meditation type music just quietly playing in the background. There's a lot of science surrounding how we learn best and I'm all for making the most of it to get those creative juices flowing.

Sounds like you're on a roll, woohoo, way to go!

Cheers,

Jacqueline

thanks for reading :) did these tactics work well for you or have you got any others to share?

Yes, I already work with No.s 1, 2, 3 and 5. No so much 4 as I enjoy a 'quiet' surrounding when I sleep, but hey, that's just me.

I've been on the internet marketing scene for a while and I used to chase 'shiny object after shiny object'. In order to combat that I've unsubscribed from a ton of lists. My email has reduced by about 70% which is pretty amazing, so it was all about deleting those distractions.

Another thing I do when I start 'working here on WA' is to put a timer on for one hour, the timer is in the next room so I have to actually get up to turn it off. The reason for this is so I have a wee stretch and a walk about before starting the next hour of work.

Within the hour of 'working', I spend 15 or so minutes JUST on being in the community, reading blogs etc (which I've made quite a few like minded connections AND also helps with my rank, woohoo) and the last 45 minutes JUST on training and completing the tasks towards my website, which now is concentrating mostly on content.

This is such an awesome platform, I love it!

I hope that was helpful,

Cheers,

Jacqueline

ye i love it here!!! thanks Jacqueline all the best

xx
