Going to try my hand at Pinterest soon.
Last Update: Mar 19, 2023
So I'm going to try my hand at Pinterest in the next week or so. I've grown tired of waiting for Google to recognize the genius that is my blog, so while I wait for them to come to their senses I'll explore this new route.
I've read a lot on Pinterest as a great traffic source for years, although maybe two years ago I noticed a shift in the conversation that it had grown more difficult.
If I do well with it, I'll leave an update or two here and let you all know how it goes.
I just started the pillar post of pillar posts, so it will have to wait until I'm done with that. Hopefully by the end of next weekend.
The top post for my topic is a little over 8k words. I would like to come close to that, or even beat it although looking ahead that seems very challenging, hah hah.
I still have lots of information to collect in the making of this post as well. I keep justifying it as it will also be beneficial for myself, as it will be like a handy reference I can also use.
I see a lot of folks who say that most courses are unnecessary, that all the information is available for free. That one is paying for someone else to collect it all, and place it into actionable order. This post will attempt to be that course, only free instead of charging for the collection of it.
I suspect it will do very well on Pinterest, although I'll be waiting to pin it until I can get a little traction there first.
Do any of you use Pinterest, and if so, how well does it work for bringing you traffic?
Regards,
Jason

Hi Jason,
That's good you're going to try Pinterest. I think Pinterest is another great source for getting traffic to your website.
I've used Pinterest for some time, and it's going fine on my end. I spend about one hour a week on Pinterest in general, when it comes to pinning my posts.
I would say it's a little better than the other social networks in my experience.
I encourage you to check out some of Jay's training on Pinterest. He did one series a few years back, and he did some lessons in his recent Twenty Twenty WordPress theme case study.
Be sure to check them out if you haven't already. Pinterest Primer Week 9: Building Pinterest Growth I hope that helps. All the best with learning how to use Pinterest :)

-Eric
I'll give them a look, thank you. I'm hopeful I can duplicate some of the success stories I've read from there.

Jason
Pinterest can be a very interesting platform/ search engine when used correctly Jason!
All the very best for this endeavour my friend!
That's an amazing decision, Jason
Pinterest is also a search engine and with consistency you will be receiving organic traffic in no time
I wish you well on your journey
Thank you. Yes, I've read many who say to treat it like a search engine. I have saved a few blogs of folks who are still killing it on Pinterest and even test their potential with new accounts and sites so it's definitely still possible.
Regards,
Jason
It is more than possible.
When you post to Pinterest, your posts will stay there for a long time, improving the opportunity for more organic traffic at a later date
Be consistent and discipline in your approach and actions and you will eventually reap the benefits

I've also decided Pinterest is a good resource for me to use. I'm not a big social media user, or at least I haven't been. I used to use Facebook but learned I'm not "eligible" to use it due to issues from my past I'm unable to change. Nevertheless, there are plenty of other options for Off Page SEO, and I've been considering which of those would be most beneficial in my particular niche.
Looking forward to your update, I'll be sure to provide mine as well. 😊
Thank you, and I look forward to reading yours as well. I've saved a couple of videos to peruse and likely will get to it in the coming week. I'm still procrastinating on a large post so just putting the finishing touches on a smaller one for now and then on to Pinterest while I procrastinate the large post more, hah hah.
